A service member assigned to Temporary Duty or who has Permanent Change of Station orders to Offutt Air Force Base, located in southeastern Nebraska (which is near Omaha, adjacent to Bellevue and close to the Missouri River), will reside at a base that has diverse missions and global responsibilities. Offutt is also home of the legendary 55th Fighter Group (World War II), a component of the 55th Wing (55 WG) of the Air Combat Command (ACC), that were awarded two Distinguished Unit Citations for their extraordinary heroism in action.
At Offutt AFB, one will find Unaccompanied Housing (UH) facilities, housing in the local community and privatized housing; the latter is an option for those that decide to sign a rental agreement lease and pay rent. Tip: Upon arrival contact the Housing Management Office (HMO) for information and assistance on securing housing.
Pet-friendly rooms and lodging are also available on Offutt AFB. One just needs to sign a Guest Pet Policy Agreement upon check-in.
Military dependents and spouses who accompany their sponsor and are looking for work can contact or stop by the Airman & Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) as they hold on to job books and listings that are on base. Even parks and recreation sites are found in the surrounding area for the outdoor enthusiast. On base, one may also look forward to seeing an air show.
